So basically the plan is to post my sketches and works in progress because I have the urge to, yet made a vow not to post them on dA, since I dumped everything in my last account and that didn't end very constructively.
This is the sketch for my holiday pic "Santa's Little Helpers on Break", starring Julian and Lyre, two of my favourite characters grabbing a snuggle in a large white blank space that doesn't even provide the courtesy of an implied landscape of endless bedsheets that might conveniently cover up parts of anatomy inconveniently difficult to draw, such as hands and feet.
Those poses were a headache and a half, Lyre's especially. I went through at least three pose sites and no one had that one simple position. I was almost to the point of actually getting the camera and setting up myself for the pose. Luckily, however, my usual intense laziness won out in the end and I settled for doing about five frame doodles and one or two brief drafts before I managed to muscle my way through the ordeal and present something passable. I'm sure there's at least a dozen mistakes on Lyre alone.
I plan to at least vaguely colour this with shoddy blur and soft-edged brush effects in Photoshop; maybe I'll even tack on a sloppy ink job if I'm feeling really energetic.
I'm also not entirely sure about this blog's title. I wasn't really planning on making a new one just for sketches. It just sort of happened. So it may or may not change later.
Why do I bother? It's not like anyone's going to read this.
I just like kidding myself, I suppose.
